Stairs

Ascend to the heaven

Few days ago friend of mine asked me what kind of stairs would fit in her house.

Stairs is something necessary when there are more than just one floor and, in the past, except of some public and well known projects, not many designers or architects were taking care to get a good design on this field, as it was thought that it was just something functional.

Luckily nowadays when stairs are needed they become an important part of the project so their design is projected carefully.

In this post I wanted to share with you few of the stairs that caught my attention due to design, to space, to materials...

Hope you enjoy!
Some of them are just harmonic, even when complicated they still manage to be clean and makes a corridor area become the key of the home design.

Managing the space and the steps we can get the next floor without any wasted space.
Stairs can be stairs, can be shelves, can be sculpture... imagining is free.
Or they can be a wardrobe
Or it can became even the focus, key and center of a whole interior design project.

It can be hidden and still proud of itself.

Stairs world is huge! hope you enjoyed!

When interiors became light

Norm Architects. Copenhagen town house.

This studio was founded in 2008 and represents the vision of Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Rønn. Situated in the heart of Copenhagen and winner of two awards at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards for their design of the Cofoco/Menu project Höst - not only for the Best European Restaurant Design but also the main award for Best Restaurant worldwide.

In spirit with the tradition for Scandinavian simplicity NORM strives to cut to the bone in their designs. To find the simplest shape for a given task without forgetting the beauty of the shape and the details, in order to reach a point where there is nothing to add and nothing to take away that can make the product better. Like true Scandinavians they pride themselves in their culture and history, and hope and aspire to create new norms for Nordic design.

The following house is a recently redesigned one that has become really interesting in terms of how daylight flows through the space. Few pictures of the project here:

I guess you want to know more about them right now... Just click on here to go to their website.

Inspiring Christmas tree

Christmas is just behind the corner and do you already have any idea about how your Christmas tree will look like?

I don´t really know what is the reason why I love Christmas deco so much... just have a certain idea that it can be either cause I love lights or either cause it is the time to decorate like crazy with a proper and justified excuse.

Trend is constantly changing, even for decoration or design, but one of the most traditional ways to decorate Christmas is trees.
Every year we find new inspiration, new style, new ornamentation... but the esence is there. And here I show you few different types of inspiring trees:

Little Nordic Houses

Houses Love story

It was more than 10 years ago when I saw little houses for the first time. I went to Netherlands and they had chocolates boxes and cans with the shape of Nordic houses or magnets or even biscuits... I was amazed about that, I didn't really know the reason. In that time I didn't know that one day I would become an interior designer, but maybe my love for design and nice home places was already showing up. Perhaps it was reminding me to my childhood when I was drawing or having houses for my dolls.
I believe that was the beginning of my love for little houses.

A year ago I went to Stockholm and saw little houses in every design and decor shop. They were getting my attention all the time so much that I had to buy one!! Even tho that i was having just a hand luggage and the the house was quite big.

Since then, I see little houses everywhere, I guess they   became trendy. I am very happy about that because I just love them!

Candle holders, wooden decoration houses, wire houses... it doesn't matter what material and why!!
Candle holders looking like there is someone living inside... it is so nice when they are on!
