Today I am going to write a very short post.
So short that I just wanted to share these prints in fabrics for kitchen or either for cushions or nordic covers that I discovered already long time ago and I am still in love with it.

Certainly one of the premises of good design is the beauty of functional and early scandinavian designers already realized long time ago.
The term “Scandinavian design” originates from a design show that traveled the US and Canada under that name from 1954 to 1957. Promoting the “Scandinavian way of living,” it exhibited various works by Nordic designers and established the meaning of the term that continues to today: beautiful, simple, clean designs, inspired by nature and the northern climate, accessible and available to all, with an emphasis on enjoying the domestic environment.
On this atmosphere and with a clear idea of how to make good design that would be good design for the future as well scandinavian designers started to be very well known worldwide.
The Royal System was conceived by the Danish designer in 1948. Recognised with Gold Medal at Finland Furniture Fair in 1950 and silver at Milan Triennale, the system set a benchmark for wall storage design. In oak, walnut and laminate the system is produced to exacting standards and offers great flexibility to extend or reconfigure.
Shelving system can be combined for individual needs, for instance as a modern writers desk, as a library, or as an ordinary bookcase with different modules. The bookcase is available in high pressure laminate (HPL) oak and walnut with
hangers in brass or stainless steel.
A restaurant that looks like a farm.
This time I wanted to write a post that joins two of my passions:
design & food.
I always enjoyed finding new interiors and restaurants with a good design in every city I visited. That is the reason why I love The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, which is a UK and international competition, now in its fifth year, and world's only event dedicated exclusively to the design of food and drink spaces.
Like this I discovered Höst, the first Danish restaurant to win the annual R&BD Award and one of the great winners in that competition as the best restaurant in Europe.
Host is the result of Norm Architects design studio and Menu studio, together with Cofoco restauranteur. Located in the centre of Copenhagen, it expresses everything that could be categorised as “Nordic”, and is the exquisite result of clashes: romantic yet modern, urban yet rural and rustic yet simplistic. It holds a very special place in people’s hearts because of its multiple stories, mixed inspirations and natural materials recreated the quietness of a farm in the heart of the city.
Norm Architects ( this studio that I really love and that deserved time ago another of my post that you can still read when clicking -------->> HERE)even created a whole complete and specific tableware for this restaurant, based on the same concept and feeling. You can buy it online here.
No wonder about their success. Simplicity, good design and natural elements all together makes always a perfect team.

Geometric design
Already few years ago, design took geometry as one of the most important ways of inspiration and it seems its gonna stay for longer as Scandinavian design is earning and earned the heart of people beyond product/interior designers.
Fortunately people starts to find the beauty in functionality, neutral colors, light above anything else, natural materials or elements, washed woods, warmth, comfort, cleanliness, tidiness... in summary, joining and putting everything what means good design together.
From that, and taking this as an inspiration, cleaned and refined lines became the soul of vases, tablewares, lamps, candleholders, cushions, chairs... to everything we may need in our home.
